At least five people were killed and more than 10 injured in a bomb blast in a bar in Nigeria's north-eastern city of Maiduguri on Sunday, reports said. The military officials have blamed the Boko Haram group, the Islamic sect waging a campaign of violence in the region as part of its self-proclaimed mission to cleanse the Nigerian society of Western 'impurities', for the attack. The bomb was planted in a bar at the middle of the mammy market, which the police officers and soldiers often visit. Culled from RTTNews (online)
